Tracy Jewelers manages the only AGS Accredited Gem Lab in the Spokane and surrounding area. In fact, only 5% of jewelers, designers, appraisers, and suppliers nationwide have met the exacting standards for membership in the AGS, and all titleholders must be recertified annually.
An AGS Accredited Gem Lab consists of a well-stocked library of gemological reference books, AGS Master Diamonds used for comparison in grading diamond color and several highly specialized instruments essential in providing complete and accurate gemological services.
Only 500 AGS Labs exist in North America. AGS Accredited Gem Labs offer the finest educational and technological support available for appraising, test ing and grading diamonds, pearls and colored gemstones. Tracy Jewelers manages the only AGS Accredited Gem Lab in the Spokane and surrounding area.

All jewelry items are examined when they arrive at Tracy's to determine the appropriate type of appraisal needed and all costs involved are discussed before work begins. Your finished appraisal will typically be ready within two business days. Finished appraisals can either be picked-up, mailed or faxed directly to your insurance company if you wish.
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate Gemologist program provides both science and technical training that includes complete courses in diamonds, diamond grading, colored stones, gem identification and colored stone grading. Holding a Graduate Gemologist diploma is an essential part of the education needed to offer clients the highest degree of knowledge in the diamond and colored gemstone world.
The Certified Gemologist Appraiser title is the highest level of achievement in the jewelry industry that is awarded by the American Gem Society (AGS). Currently only 400 jewelers in North America have earned this prestigious professional title. A written appraisal from a CGA is the highest documentation available for verifying jewelry values.
The AGS Certified Sales Associate classification is awarded to sales associates of AGS member firms. Each C.S.A. must complete and pass the required course materials plus exams. In addition, each must pass annual re-certification exams each year.
