Before you shop, be aware of the different laboratories and their reputation in accuracy of grading diamonds. The most reputable, consistent and demanding jewelers have been accredited by the American Gem Society (AGS) and have studied with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Tracy Jewelers manages the only AGS Accredited Gem Lab in the Spokane and surrounding area. In fact, only 5% of jewelers, designers, appraisers, and suppliers nationwide have met the exacting standards for membership in the AGS, and all titleholders must be recertified annually.

Only 500 AGS Labs exist in North America. AGS Accredited Gem Labs consist of a well-stocked library of gemological reference books, AGS Master Diamonds used for comparison in grading diamond color and several highly specialized instruments essential in providing complete and accurate gemological services. They offer the finest educational and technological support available for appraising, testing and grading diamonds, pearls and colored gemstones.

Other laboratories include the European Gemological Laboratory (EGL) and the Independent Gemological Laboratories, Inc. (IGL). These laboratories specialize in grading large volumes of diamonds sold in mall stores. Tracy Jewelers does not carry diamonds graded by these labs.

Also, be wary of jewelers who overuse the term, “ideal”, as this is often a tip-off to less-then-ideal products. We also recommend that you stay clear of jewelers who offer a gem at a 25-50% discount of what they say is the actual worth. Just ask yourself, “Why would any reputable jeweler do that?” The simple answer is almost always, “They wouldn’t.”

Tracy Jewelers guarantees the quality and integrity of their product and will replace/repair any defective merchandise immediately. They guarantee their diamond grading to be equal to or better than the grade given by any recognizable independent grading lab, including GIA, AGS and any AGS Certified Gemologist Appraiser. They also guarantee the value of their loose diamonds for life.

If at any time you’d choose to trade in your Tracy’s diamond, full credit for the stone is allowed to the upgraded purchase of a more valuable diamond. Tracy Jewelers gladly offers a 30-day money back guarantee on any unaltered Tracy Jewelers in-stock merchandise returned in its original, non-worn condition.

Refunds are made in same manner as original payment, so personal check refunds can take up to 14 days to process. Tracy Jewelers guarantees against manufactures' defects for up to one year from date of purchase. Any repair work is guaranteed for one year, excluding normal wear or accidents. Special orders and modified items are non-returnable.

Tracy Jewelers is very grateful to the Spokane-area community for their success. They are strong supporters of numerous important community causes, including Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Coaches vs. Cancer and the Susan Komen Race for the Cure.

They also belong to the American Gem Society, the Jewelers Vigilance Committee and the Better Business Bureau.

In case of theft, loss or damage, Tracy Jewelers will happily provide you with an appraisal and assist you in promptly filing it with your insurance company. Your insurance policy is meant to cover inadvertent chipping or damage, as well as loss or theft of the stone. Of course, they guarantee their workmanship, but accidents happen to the best of us, and they cannot cover these incidents.
